Leonardo da Vinci and the Milanese Renaissance
You will visit:
- The basilica of Santa Maria Delle Grazie
- The Last Supper or the Sforza Castle and the Michelangelo’s Pietà Rondanini
What to expect:
Our expert guide will take you to visit the fantastic interior of the Church of Santa Maria Delle Grazie and its Refectory, home of the “Cenacolo Vinciano” – “The Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci. The work of art by Leonardo Da Vinci is one of the world’s most celebrated mural paintings and, like the basilica of Santa Maria Delle Grazie, is a UNESCO heritage site.
(N.B Reservations for a visit to the Cenacolo Vinciano are mandatory, and tickets are unfortunately very difficult to obtain due to the vast affluence of tourists from all over the world. Therefore, please get in touch with us as soon as possible).
In the event that tickets for the Last Supper are not available, you will visit the Sforza Castle (its three courtyards and the internal museum) to admire the “Sala delle Asse”, mural decorated by Leonardo Da Vinci and the final masterpiece of Michelangelo Buonarroti, the “Pietà Rondanini”.
You will relive the glorious period of the court of Ludovico Sforza, who transformed Milan into a beautiful Renaissance city.
THIS TOUR CAN NOT TAKE PLACE ON MONDAYS BECAUSE THE LAST SUPPER AND THE SFORZA CASTLE MUSEUMS ARE CLOSED.
DURATION: 2 hours
MEETING POINT: to be decided
EXTRA COSTS: admission fees are payable for the Last Supper and the Sforza Castle museums.
